This one never ended up on a record, until I re-recorded it for the Black Cat B/S session. This was a challenge to myself to write a positive love song instead of one of heartbreak. It was one of the first songs I wrote after “This Changes Everything” came out. I really liked the way it came out, but it still somehow felt disingenuous at the time. It is honestly really heavy, because shortly after I recorded it, my significant other and I decided to part ways and move to completely different cities and begin our next chapters. Listening to it now it makes me smile, and encapsulates the light, warm feelings of that relationship that I cherish, so I suppose it had a purpose after all.
