This song appears on “What Will You Do When It Happens To You?”. I wrote this song after I had finished and finalized the record. I liked it so much, and the writing process occurred so quickly and naturally while finishing up the record that I felt I couldn’t not fit it in somewhere. This was the first run through. I mostly included this demo on here just so I could say a few things about the song itself… I wrote it reflecting on a trip I took to Tacoma to visit my good friend Laura Lacy during my last few months of living in Vermont. I can’t remember if I had made the impulsive decision to move to Boston before or right after this trip, but it represents a time period that drastically changed the path of my life. Including the first glimmer of hope that I might actually be starting to value my life enough to be afraid of dying, in that moment, before I got to explore more.
