To open things up, we have an electric version of a track off of my 2008 EP “God, Save The Ampersand!” I wrote almost all of the songs for that EP in my dorm room my freshman year of college. It was a weird transition to go from writing songs at my fathers house (which was usually empty), to a packed dorm room. I was not a fan. As a result, I have always felt a lot of the songs on that EP were subdued and I never really cared much for them. This was one of the ones that managed to stick with me. In 2009, I moved in with my good friend Tyler Daniel Bean who had recording equipment at his parents house that was close by. We only got through two songs of the recording process before I started losing steam. We decided to take a break from recording, most likely right before I moved home to Connecticut for a couple months. During that time, and I could be remembering it wrong, I think a hard drive crashed, the stems were gone, and all that was left were two rough bounces, both of which find themselves on this collection.
