This is, as the title would lead you to believe, one of the first recordings of this song which later appeared on “What Will You Do When It Happens To You?”, (and many other releases after that!). I hadn’t quite pinned down all of the lyrics yet, or the overall feeling I wanted for the song. Similar in style to “Avenues”, this song quickly became one of my favorites to play live. I felt like it had a force of its own and I’d open with it often. This particular version is interesting because it is a lot more subdued and slow compared to how it would end up in a live setting.
